HOSA has six categories of competitive events. Once you know which category you are interested in, choosing an event is a piece of cake. If you aren't sure which category or event you should do, please ask any of the officers or advisors, we are more than happy to assist you in finding the event for you!
HEALTH SCIENCE EVENTS
Test your knowledge
Are you book-smart? If so, you may be interested in competing in a health science event. Health science competitive events test how much information you know about your topic. These events can test your knowledge in Pathophysiology, Medical Law & Ethics, Medical Terminology, and many more!
HEALTH PROFESSIONS EVENTS
Enhance your clinical skill set
If you would like to prepare for clinical tasks you may encounter in the healthcare field, you may be interested in Health Professions events. You will study and be tested on skills based on actual tasks done in the daily routine of a healthcare professional.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EVENTS
Be prepared
Similar to Health Professions events, Emergency Preparedness tests your skills on handling urgent situations using your clinical skills. If you are interested in competing in topics like CPR and First Aid, you may want to consider signing up for an Emergency Preparedness event.
